Former Ashanti Regional Minister under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration, Peter Anarfi Mensah has been reported dead.

The late former headmaster of the Tepa Senior High School died on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after he was involved in an accident weeks earlier, MyNewsGh.com has gathered.

According to close family sources, he was cleaning one of his vehicles at home when it mistakenly reversed and hit him leaving him with multiple fractures and other life-threatening injuries.

“We rushed him to the Komfo Anokye Hospital where he was on admission receiving treatment. Former President Jerry John Rawlings and Ibrahim Mahama visited him at the facility a week ago”, the source added.

He was however pronounced dead on Monday morning according to Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwame Zu

The body has since been deposited at the hospital’s morgue pending an autopsy.

The educationist was appointed Regional Minister in March 2015 after succeeding Mr. Samuel Sarpong who was fired together with his Deputy Joseph Yammin under the Mahama administration.

Barely a year in office, he was relieved and his position taken over by Mr John Alexander Ackun until the exit of the then NDC government.
